At just 22 years old, Izzy Pomerants has spent over half of her life studying and perfecting her musical craft. She is originally from Brooklyn, New York, and comes from a family of Jewish immigrants from Odesa, Ukraine. She moved to Nashville in 2021 to study commercial voice and songwriting at Belmont University, and now lives here full time to continue pursuing music. She has been trained in commercial and classical voice, as well as ballroom dance and musical theater. When she isn’t writing and performing her own music, she also enjoys teaching voice lessons, singing background vocals, writing songs for other artists, and singing in weddings.
Izzy has been involved in the arts her entire life, and music specifically has been a lifeline for her throughout multiple hard times. She often finds herself and her music inspired by nature, literature, mental health, and social issues. She enjoys writing and performing music that tells a story, and hopes to make others feel emotionally validated.
Izzy has been described as “a new singer/songwriter with modern, well-crafted lyrics and haunting vocals” by Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame member, Pat Alger. You can hear what Alger is talking about in her debut EP “Time on the Run,” which was released in November 2025 onto all streaming platforms.
