Popular Turnip Green Festival returns November 3
You won’t want to miss seeing the world’s largest pot of turnip greens at the Nashville Farmers’ Market annual Turnip Green Festival Saturday, November 3, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The event is sponsored by Smiley’s Farm.
In addition to free turnip green samples, other enticements include smoked BBQ, the Cornbread Cook-off, and music by the BB King’s All-Star Band.
“This is one of our favorite events of the year,” says Tasha Kennard, executive director of the market. “Who would have thought that the humble turnip green could generate so much energy and enthusiasm?” she asks. “Families always have such a blast.”
An added benefit this year is the increased parking to our north provided by the new parking lot the Market shares with the Tennessee State Museum. In addition, area state parking lots are open at no charge to Market patrons on weekends.
