Nearly 200 members of the Garden Center Group, in town for their annual national conference, recently descended on Gardens of Babylon to take a close look at what makes Nashville’s best garden center thrive.

Lawn & Garden Retailer magazine has named Gardens of Babylon, the garden center at the Nashville Farmers’ Market, one of five finalists for its Merchandiser of the Year Award. The annual competition recognizes independent garden centers that use creativity to build eye-catching store displays.

“Gardens of Babylon’s artsy displays use a combination of flowering shrubs, tropicals, evergreens and statuary,” writes Teresa McPherson. “All Gardens of Babylon staff play a part in the planning, planting and maintenance of the garden. Music aired throughout the store adds yet another sensory dimension of their Gardens of Babylon experience. After all, they’re in Music City!”
