Did you know that tens of millions of Americans struggle to put healthy food on the table? We believe that everyone should have access to fresh, healthy food. That's why our Fresh Bucks program doubles the value of EBT/SNAP when shopping at NFM, the Vanderbilt Farmers' Market and Azafran Park Farmers' Market.

Since 2015, the Nashville Farmers' Market has participated in a pilot program funded by AARP and the USDA to increase awareness, accessibility and purchasing power for shoppers utilizing the EBT/Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Many of the Nashville Farmers' Market farmers and producers accept EBT and participate in our Fresh Bucks (formerly Fresh Savings), program. In addition, the International Market accepts EBT and Fresh Bucks.

The Fresh Bucks program is modeled after EBT incentive programs operating at farmers' markets throughout the United States and allows you to buy more fresh fruits, vegetables, milk, eggs, meat, poultry, pork, lamb, turkey and more with your SNAP card at the Nashville Farmers’ Market, because we give you an extra $20 for every $20 you spend with your EBT card at one of our participating farmers or retailers.

How the program works

It's simple. We double your purchases up to $20 when using your EBT/SNAP card at participating farmers and retailers at the Nashville Farmers' Market, the Vanderbilt Farmers' Market and the Azafran Park Farmers' Market.

Each customer can spend up to $20 on their EBT/SNAP card with every farmer or retailer who accepts EBT at each of our markets. Shoppers save their receipts and bring them to the information booth on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Nashville Farmers' Market, the info booth at the Vanderbilt or Azafran Park markets during their operating hours or to our office (located on the second floor of the Market House) throughout the week to receive up to $20 back in Fresh Bucks tokens.

Tokens can be used to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables and more throughout the market season at participating farmers and retailers. NFM Fresh Bucks tokens may be redeemed at the Nashville Farmers' Market, Vanderbilt Farmers' Market and Azafran Park Farmers' Market by the expiration date listed on the token.

how it helps

The Fresh Bucks program allows our customers who are enrolled in the EBT/SNAP program to increase their purchasing power at the farmers' market; improves access to fresh, healthy food; improves public health; and supports participating farmers and retailers in a thriving local economy.
